The estate extends for 826ha, 200 of which are vineyards, almost completely covering the municipality of Rocca de' Giorgi.
The generational changes have never questioned biodiversity, so much so that the estate boasts large areas of woodland and rich wildlife.
The size of the estate and the particular conformation over the years have made it possible to carry out a zoning process: the most suitable vine variety has therefore been identified for each plot, taking into account its qualitative expression, in relation to the type of soil and microclimate.
The calcareous, clayey soil and the strong temperature range between day and night, have consolidated the presence of vines for white wines, including Pinot Noir which, with its 140 hectares, is the ideal site to express its potential in the production of classic method sparkling wine. Other grape varieties cultivated in descending order of area are Riesling, Pinot Grigio, Chardonnay, Moscato, Croatina, Barbera and Cabernet.
It will host the tests managed by the University of Pavia, which will qualify the impact of the various soil management techniques to increase the resilience of the vineyards against extreme rainy or dry events and reduce the incidence of surface landslides and erosion phenomena in order to limit the structural damage to the plants and the loss of organic matter.
